Glengoyne launched their NAS Cask Strength Batch 006 earlier this week.
Batch 006 is the very first in the series to have been matured 100% in Sherry Oak Casks, it is available from specialist shops and Glengoyne’s webshop now.
The Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch series is a NAS whisky series launched in 2012 when the distillery rebranded itself. The Cask Strength Batch series replaced the 10 yo Cask Strength and a new batch has been released, almost, annually. Batch 001 was launched in late 2012 just as the GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 1 was, current batch is 7. As a comparison, the Aberlour A’bunadh Batch 1, current batch is 62, was released already in 1997.

Tasting notes
Appearance: Amber gold.
Nose: Ripe banana, warm baked custard, peppered strawberries, digestive biscuits, soft oak and a short sherbet tingle.
Taste: Thick rosehip syrup, Demerara sugar developing into a spicy, gooseberry dryness. Wonderful balance, nothing dominates. Splash of water brings intensified syrup and green fruits.
Finish: Very long.
