A new gin from the Isle of Islay will be launched during this year’s Feis Ile by Islay Gin. Their very first release is named the Nerabus Gin and the first batch consists of 500 bottles. Islay Gin is a family driven venture run by Drs Audrey and John Gow and the gin is being produced near their home in Nerabus on Islay.
To our knowledge, this will be the second gin coming from Islay, the first one was the Botanist Islay Dry Gin from Bruichladdich.
The Nerabus Gin is a dry gin made with 100% Islay water, and is infused with just one plant. The famous wild Islay heather!
This is in contrast to the other Islay-made gin, the Botanist which consists of 22 different botanicals, and the Lussa Gin, made on the neighbouring island the Isle of Jura, which consists of 15 different botanicals.
We hope to get back to this promising gin soon!
