Douglas Laing releases Rock Oyster CS #2!
Douglas Laing continues celebrating their 70 years of whisky adventures by releasing the 2nd and final part of the Rock Oyster Cask Strength. Distilleries represented in this blended malt are distilleries from the Isle of Islay, Isle of Jura, and Orkney.
Fred Laing about the 1st release: “Anticipate a big peat hit full of Islay phenols, iodine and coal dust, with a shake of pepper softening to a distinct honey sweetness from the Arran casks. Isle of Jura brings big waves of citrus and barley to the mix, and Orkney fetches up some salt from the deep.”.
The new Cask Strength release, the 2nd Edition, is said to deliver ”flambéed orange peel, rich earthiness, puffs of drifting peat smoke and salty tang” on the palate and, in classic Douglas Laing style, the maritime Malt is assuredly offered without colouring or chill-filtration, reportedly ensuring that the Scotch Whisky is truly ”as natural as it gets”.
This 2nd edition has been exclusively matured in American oak casks and bottled at 56.1% ABV. 8400 bottles are available worldwide. The price is £49.99, and the release will be available later this month.
