Douglas Laing reveals the 2nd XOP Platinum!

XOP Platinum Port Dundas

A 40 year old Single Grain from Port Dundas is the second release in the XOP Platinum series.

The Glasgow based Scotch Whisky specialist, Douglas Laing, celebrates their 70th anniversary this year with a special series called Xtra Old Particular Platinum. Each release has been chosen by Fred Laing and his daughter, Cara Laing, and each?quarter of 2018 will see a new XOP Platinum release. The first release was an Ardbeg 25 years old which was launched in March.

Today, Douglas Laing revealed the 2nd release in this series, a 40 year old Single Grain from the silent distillery Port Dundas. It has been bottled at cask strength 59.1% and it is said it is “absolutely bursting with gingerbread spicy sweetness, dark fruits and home baking“. Each bottle comes in a moleskin hinged box, a certificate, and is hand-signed and individually numbered by both Fred and Cara. 168 bottles will be available in June at an RRP ?350.

Fred Laing, Douglas Laing?s Chairman, comments: ?Back in the 1970?s, my father probably anticipated this cask of Port Dundas packing a 12 Years Old blend, so all those years later, it?s great to see and taste it being bottled as part of our, really his, Platinum Anniversary series.?
